For social media managers · Lesson 8 of 11

When a post doesn't publish, and posting by hand

See why a platform refused a post, fix the account and retry, and post by hand where Pulse can't publish.

The comic

  1. Panel 1 of 3.
Polly says: If a platform refuses a post, it shows “Didn't publish” and “{Platform} refused it” with the reason. Fix what it says, then “Retry”. If the account's access ran out, “Fix the account” takes you to reconnect.
  2. Panel 2 of 3.
Polly says: “Platforms” also has the publishing queue: “All”, “Failed”, “To post by hand”, “Waiting” and “Published”. Everything going out for the project is there.
  3. Panel 3 of 3.
Polly says: For TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, X and personal accounts, click “Export to post by hand”. Copy the caption, post it in the app, then click “I posted it” so the calendar knows.

Try it in Pulse

  1. Open “Platforms” and find the publishing queue.
  2. Look under “Failed” and “To post by hand”.
  3. For a post to do by hand, click “Export to post by hand”, then “I posted it”.
