For social media managers · Lesson 10 of 14

Answer comments

See what people said on your published Instagram and Facebook posts, reply as the brand, hide what shouldn't be there, and tick off what's dealt with.

The comic

  1. Panel 1 of 3.
Polly says: Open “Comments” in the left panel. “New” is what nobody has answered or ticked off yet; the number beside “Comments” says how many. Pulse looks every quarter of an hour, or press “Check now”.
  2. Panel 2 of 3.
Polly says: Write under the comment and press “Reply”: it goes out publicly as the brand's account, and the comment counts as done. “Hide” keeps a rude or spammy comment out of sight; “Delete” removes it for good. “Done” ticks off one that needs no answer.
  3. Panel 3 of 3.
Polly says: The first time, Instagram or Facebook asks for permission to show Pulse the comments: press “Allow comments”, sign in and choose Allow. Each post's own comments are on the post too, under “How it did”.
